FIELD Engineer

Love working with cables and tech gear? We’re looking for a hands-on Field Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll handle everything from pulling copper and fiber, splicing fiber, racking servers, and deploying network equipment to basic configuration and troubleshooting when issues come up. If you’re comfortable working across different sites in different countries, enjoy solving problems, and can read a wiring diagram without breaking a sweat, let’s talk. You’ll be the go-to person for getting customers connected and keeping their infrastructure running smoothly.

Essential job requirements:

• Proven experience with installation, termination, and testing of copper cabling (Cat5, Cat6, etc.) and fiber optic cabling (single-mode, multi-mode, SC/LC connectors).

• Proficiency in fiber optic splicing (mechanical or fusion) and using testing tools such as OTDR, power meter, and lightsource.

• Ability to deploy, rack, and stackservers, network switches, routers, wireless APs, and related datacenter equipment.

• Basic configuration of servers and network hardware (IP addressing, VLANs, switch ports, initial OS setup).

• Strong skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network and hardware connectivity issues, both remotely and onsite.

• Ability to follow technical diagrams, project blueprints, and structured cabling documentation standards.

• Solid understanding of basic network concepts and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DHCP, routing basics) and structured cabling systems.

Soft skills and additional requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in cabling, network infrastructure, or a related field engineering role.

• Familiarity with health, safety, and quality requirements for field work and installation activities.

• Willingness to work in various field environments and occasionally outside core office hours (on-call, flexible schedule).

• Good communication skills for working with technical teams, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and maintain accurate records of installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.

• Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel to customer or remote sites as needed.

• Independent and proactive workstyle.

Preferred qualifications:

• Industry-recognized certifications in cabling or networking (e.g. FOA CFOT, CCNA, CompTIANetwork+, Panduit. Corning).

• Experience with cable management best practices in datacenter or enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with basic scripting, automation, or systems administration (e.g. PowerShell, basic Linux/Windows admin tasks).

• Experience working with both enterprise and SMB infrastructures.

• Languages: English and German (spoken and written).
