QA / Test Engineer

Your Role

The primary responsibility is to own and coordinate our testing strategy. It’s not that we don't write tests—our teams already put considerable time and effort into writing them at various levels. However, no one currently coordinates this work across the company. You will maximize test coverage while minimizing need for manual testing, working strategically to improve our engineering practices.

Skills You Need

HARD SKILLS

• Engineering mindset – focused on long-term, sustainable, and automated solutions.
• Software development experience at least at the mid-level. Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or C++ is a plus but not a must.
• Experience with testing tools.
• Strong knowledge and experience in quality engineering at a senior level—beyond just writing automated tests, this includes the ability to formulate testing strategies.

SOFT SKILLS

• Self-management. You won't be part of an engineering team and won't have tasks assigned to them—they must be able to define their own priorities and focus.
• Excellent communication skills. They'll speak with people across all of Research & Development and must align sometimes conflicting interests.
• Strategic thinking. Not everything can be tested. The person must be able to make smart decisions about where to invest time and energy to get the biggest return.
• English—required, Czech or Slovak—nice to have, not required.

What Makes This Role Unique

This role is an engineering role and it offers a significant opportunity to shape and apply your own vision. It requires a unique blend of software engineering and quality engineering skills.

While this person will formulate and own our company-wide quality strategy, they will also be expected to actively contribute to its implementation—including hands-on work in test automation. This won’t be their sole responsibility, as test automation is a shared effort across the engineering team. However, we do expect them to lead by example and take an active role in building robust automated solutions. Plenty of room for personal creativity and an opportunity to educate and mentor others.
