O pozícii
About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience to help us build a new central data storage system from the ground up. This system will serve the entire Trading department, with a primary focus on supporting the Analytical and Algorithmic Trading teams (Intraday, Long-term). We’re looking for senior data engineer to join us on our way of building this data platform for the Trading department at CEZ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership: Introduce new technologies and best practices in coding and research to the team.
- Platform Setup: Assist in setting up the data platform using OpenShift/MinIO/Timescale, including making crucial architectural decisions.
- Data Streaming: Implement data streaming solutions using Kafka as part of the data flow architecture.
- Data Acquisition: Acquire new data sources and develop tailored solutions for specific trading needs.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Scalability: Address challenges related to scaling for larger data volumes and expanding into global markets.
- Problem Solving: Tackle complex problems to ensure competitive advantage in the market.
Preferred Skills and Technologies:
Data Engineering, DevOps, Big Data, Postgres, Timescale, Cloud Engineering (OpenShift/AWS), Python Programming (Pandas, NumPy), Dask, Spark, Airflow, Jenkins, Kafka
Qualifications:
- Technical or mathematical education.
- Data engineering and cloud architecture.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with data streaming and big data technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- English, Czech
