Senior Trader – Energy Origination (Power, Gas & Energy Commodities)

Join the trading team within the ČEZ Group, one of Central Europe’s leading energy companies.

Within our Origination Trading Desk, we are looking for an experienced Senior Trader –Origination who will actively develop and originate profitable trading opportunities across power, gas, emission allowances and other energy commodities.

This role is strongly P&L-driven, combining market analysis, commercial structuring and relationship management with hands-on trading responsibility.

As a Senior Trader – Energy Origination, you will be responsible for:

• Origination, structuring and execution of profitable trading opportunities in
• power, gas, emission allowances and other energy commodities
• Full P&L ownership of originated and traded positions
• Identifying and analysing market opportunities across European energy markets (fundamental, regulatory and commercial analysis)
• Developing structured products and tailored solutions for internal and external counterparties
• Active cooperation with other ČEZ Group departments (trading, risk, legal, middle office)
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with market participants, counterparties and partners
• Contributing to the continuous development of the energy trading and origination strategy

What we expect

• Proven experience in energy trading and/or origination, ideally in power, gas, emission allowances or regulatory framework
• Clear profit-oriented mindset with demonstrated P&L responsibility
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong commercial judgement
• Ability to independently originate, structure and execute deals
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
• Knowledge of another European language is a strong advantage (Czech is not required)
• Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude and strong sense of ownership
• Team player with the ability to work across functions and disciplines
