Experienced PLC Engineer

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

We are currently looking for a Senior / Lead PLC Engineer – Automation & AI-Driven Engineering (Minimum 10 years of experience) to join our engineering team in Trnava, Slovakia.

This is not only a PLC programming position.

We are looking for an experienced automation engineer who can help us build our internal automation standards, improve the way we develop machines, and actively explore how AI and new engineering tools can improve PLC development, commissioning, troubleshooting and knowledge management.

Your Role:

• Develop and implement PLC software for automated systems, mainly based on Siemens TIA Portal

• Experience with Allen-Bradley, B&R and/or Schneider is considered a strong advantage

• Define, develop and continuously improve our internal PLC standards, software architecture, libraries and engineering best practices

• Take technical ownership of PLC development from concept and design through FAT, commissioning and SAT

• Perform on-site commissioning, optimization and troubleshooting at customer facilities across Europe

• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, robotics and project teams to deliver complete automation solutions

• Review PLC software developed internally or by external partners and ensure consistency with company standards

• Support and mentor less experienced automation engineers

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes

Your Profile:

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation / PLC programming

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field

• Strong experience with Siemens PLC programming and TIA Portal

• Hands-on experience with HMI development

• Good understanding of industrial automation architecture and machine control

• Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, etc.

• Experience with robotics, vision systems, databases, SQL, Python, APIs or industrial IT is a strong advantage

• Interest in AI, automation of engineering workflows and modern software-development tools

• Ability to challenge existing methods and propose better solutions

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

• Comfortable taking technical responsibility and making engineering decisions

• Willing to travel within Slovakia and across Europe for commissioning and customer support

• Good English communication skills
