About this position

We are looking for a Strategic Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and services required for our production operations. You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery conditions, and identifying opportunities to optimize procurement processes.

This is a hands-on and strategic position that requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities:

• Contacting, evaluating, and selecting suppliers to meet production and quality requirements.

• Managing budgets when ordering components and services for production.

• Negotiating with suppliers — including international suppliers in English — on pricing, transportation, and delivery schedules.

• Conducting market research, regularly evaluating supplier performance, and identifying alternative sources when needed.
• Reviewing inventory levels and placing orders to ensure production continuity.
• Managing inventory, creating and administering purchase orders in the ERP system, tracking delivery status, and reporting to internal stakeholders.
• Monitoring procurement costs and preparing cost reduction proposals.
• Preparing reports and forecasts of future purchasing needs as assigned.
• Collaborating closely with other departments across the company to support operational and strategic goals.

Requirements:

• Excellent professional communication skills (verbal and written) when interacting with suppliers, stakeholders, and management.
• Strong analytical skills, including proven spend analysis abilities: data collection, interpretation, drawing conclusions, and effectively summarizing results to support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Proven negotiation skills and successful outcomes through strategic sourcing processes and methodologies.
• Resourcefulness in gathering specific supply market research and intelligence to support informed procurement and sourcing decisions.
• Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions with limited data or in ambiguous situations.
• High level of responsibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain reliable, long-term relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
• Proficiency with PC tools and experience working with ERP systems (ideally SAP B1), MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Jira.
• Slovak language: native level; English: B2+ level.
• Technical mindset, ideally with knowledge of PCBs, electronic components, optical components, or CNC parts.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing role.
