About the Job

You would be part of a global team providing Kubernetes cluster as a service to Allianz Technology internal Customers across the globe. This team is responsible for providing a reliable and secure service with incremental updates to our internal customers in a timely manner. All aspects related to the platform provided example, Availability, Disaster Recovery, Vulnerability management, Architecture & Documentation, Service Provisioning and Incident Handling will be managed by the team.

As a Kubernetes Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes clusters automation and related infrastructure. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and reliability of the applications and services. Your expertise in DevOps practices will be crucial in automating and optimizing our infrastructure deployment processes.

What you do

• Design, deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in AWS and or Azure cloud.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the infrastructure deployment process.

• Collaborate with development teams / customers to ensure applications are designed for scalability and reliability.

• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for Kubernetes clusters and applications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure and applications.

• Optimize resource utilization and ensure high availability and cost efficiency of services.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in Kubernetes and DevOps to mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and team members.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with several years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure management.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments, particularly in AWS and/or Azure Cloud, along with strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go, and deep knowledge of containerization technologies.

• In-depth understanding of networking, security, and storage concepts within a Kubernetes environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or crossplane.io is highly desirable.

• Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS), experience with service mesh technologies like Istio, and knowledge of GitHub Actions. We also welcome candidates with an interest in machine learning.
