Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Dentsply Sirona, you will play a vital role in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our Data Engagement Platform (DEP). Working with a passionate team, you will collaborate on transformative projects, handling data at scale and leveraging the latest tools in the industry.Our Global Data and Analytics department is responsible for collecting and streamlining data into the DEP, developing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, and creating reports for Dentsply Sirona. With a team of 20+ members, we work cross-functionally, interacting with teams in finance, marketing, sales, supply, and operations. We utilize both Azure and GCP tools, alongside Databricks and dbt, to power our analytics and insights.

Responsibilities:

• Build scalable, efficient data ingestion workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud-native tools.
  
• Develop and orchestrate large-scale data and ML workflows in Databricks and BigQuery, across GCP or Azure environments.
  
• Manage and troubleshoot data platforms in Azure and GCP, focusing on maintaining reliability and performance for AI/ML
• applications, data ingestion processes, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
  
• Collaborate with the broader Global Data and Analytics team, ensuring smooth communication and knowledge sharing.
  
• Maintain clear and open communication with stakeholders, ensuring the team fully understands data requirements.
  
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support our growing platform.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

• A degree in Management Information Systems or a related experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a BI role or as a data engineer.
• Experience with Databricks and dbt is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, and version control.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python
• Advantage is experience in AI and machine learning frameworks. 
• Solid understanding of relational databases and best practices.

• Expertise in troubleshooting common database issues.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring alignment between business and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
