CTO / Principal architect (fintech industry)

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

Our client is a globally focused fintech company based in Bratislava that aims to transform the way people understand and manage their finances.

Role summary

Own the technology strategy and architecture end‑to‑end. You’ll set the technical vision, lead the engineering org, and remain hands‑on where it matters—scaling systems, shipping product, and building a high‑performing culture.

What you’ll do

• Technology strategy: Define 12–24-36-month tech roadmap aligned to business goals; make build/buy/partner decisions.
• Architecture: Design and evolve a secure, scalable, observable platform (APIs, data, cloud, AI/ML).
• Execution: Establish SDLC, CI/CD, testing, and incident management; drive delivery predictability.
• Team: Hire, mentor, and structure engineering (frontend, backend, data/ML, DevOps/SRE).
• Security & compliance: Implement best practices (e.g., least privilege, encryption, key management); prepare for SOC 2/ISO 27001 as needed.
• Data & AI: Set up the data platform and MLOps; govern AI usage (privacy, safety, cost).
• Cost & reliability: Optimize cloud spend; set SLOs and capacity plans.
• Stakeholder management: Partner with Product, GTM, Finance on prioritization and trade‑offs.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

• 10+ years in engineering (3–5+ at director/VP/CTO level) building and running production systems at scale.
• Ideally with start-up experience (building foundation from scratch), fintech company experience is a big advantage
• Deep architectural expertise (e.g., microservices/event‑driven, streaming, caching, distributed systems).
• Hands‑on with one major cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), IaC (Terraform), containers/K8s, observability (metrics/traces/logs).
• Track record hiring and scaling teams; strong coaching and performance management.
• Practical security mindset and experience with audits/compliance.
• Bonus: domain expertise in FinTech; experience shipping AI‑powered features or data products.
