About the role

The Internal Auditor performs independent financial, compliance or operational internal audits to ensure established policies and procedures are followed.  

The position works under the close supervision and guidance of senior team members to develop auditing skills and knowledge.

As part of our international environment, advanced proficiency in either Italian, Spanish, French or Portuguese is essential to effectively engage with clients and support engagements across multiple regions.

This position offers flexibility in working arrangements, with the option to work from either our Bratislava or Košice office, combined with hybrid work. The role requires up to 30% travel to various clients’ locations across Europe.

Responsibilities 

·        Work under the supervision and guidance of senior audit team members in planning and executing audit engagements

·        Perform financial, compliance & other audit activities of business units within specified time periods

·        Prepare audit files and pre-audit work, including audit communications with Auditees

·        Document work performed based on department standards and IIA Professional Practice standards and provides support for an informed, objective opinion of risk

·        Evaluate audit results to determine the quality and effectiveness of internal operating policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, administrative procedures & reporting practices

·        Proactively identify risks or gaps in internal controls and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and strengthen internal controls

·        Identify opportunities to improve business processes

·        Draft formal, clearly written and meaningful audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions and recommendations

·        Provide assistance in performance of investigations of improper activities including potential fraud matters

·        Participate in audits and related assignments at client locations, requiring up to 30% travel.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

·        University degree in Business, Finance/Accounting or equivalent is required

·        0-2 years of experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or a related finance function (internship experience acceptable)

·        Basic understanding of auditing standards, internal control frameworks, and risk management principles

·        Advanced proficiency in either Italian, Spanish, French or Portuguese

·        Fluent English is required

·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

·        Exceptional attention to detail, good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

·        Strong personal values and integrity, including the ability to work with and protect confidential information

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
