Brightpick is a leading provider of AI-powered robotic solutions for warehouse automation. As part of the Brightpick, we develop and deploy autonomous mobile robots that are transforming logistics across the globe. We are currently seeking a results-oriented Strategic Buyer to strengthen our procurement team, with a specific focus on strategic components and static equipment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing of critical robotic parts and the structural infrastructure (racking systems) that forms the backbone of our automated warehouses.

Core responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & Static Equipment Management: Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for robotic components and high-volume static equipment, including heavy-duty racking systems, shelving and totes.
• Supplier Lifecycle Management: Identify, audit, and onboard international manufacturers of racks and totes. Manage long-term relationships, ensuring suppliers meet our quality and delivery standards.
• Technical Procurement for Infrastructure: Collaborate and support engineers to ensure that purchased equipment meets all technical specifications, requirements and certifications.
• Complex Contract Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations for high-value contracts. Focus on total cost of ownership (TCO), scalability and managing supplier capacity to ensure readiness for large-scale projects deployments.
• Logistics & Project Coordination: Support & negotiate prices for the transport of static equipment and robots to international project sites, ensuring alignment with installation schedules and project deadlines.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering and product teams to make sure all purchased parts and racks fit our warehouse designs.

Requirements:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in strategic procurement, ideally within the technology, heavy engineering, or automated logistics sectors.
• Expertise in Static Equipment: Proven experience in purchasing racking systems, steel constructions, or industrial automation infrastructure is a significant advantage.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret technical drawings, structural specifications, and material certificates. You should be comfortable discussing technical details with both engineers and suppliers. Familiarity with internal systems like SAP or Jira would be beneficial.
• Market Intelligence: Deep understanding of the global warehouse solutions market and experience managing price indices.
• Analytical & Budgetary Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, manage large-scale budgets, and drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality. Target-focused approach to reporting current prices and realizing possible savings..
• Communication & Negotiation: Fluency in English is required. English is essential for daily communication and negotiations with our global suppliers. Slovak is an advantage for effective collaboration with internal teams and local colleagues.
• Project Mindset: Ability to manage multiple procurement streams simultaneously under tight deadlines typical for large-scale warehouse automation projects.
