Head of Upstream Processes

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:
We are looking for an experienced Head of Upstream Processes who will be responsible for managing and optimizing cell culture and fermentation processes within biotechnological manufacturing.
This role is key to ensuring stable, efficient, and scalable production of biological medicines and offers the opportunity to work with modern bioprocess technologies. Management and optimization of upstream processes (cell culture, fermentation)

-Operation of bioreactors (laboratory, pilot, and production scale)
-Process development, optimization, and scale-up
-Optimization of media and feeding strategies
-Monitoring and control of critical process parameters
-Troubleshooting production deviations and technical issues
-Support of technology transfer into manufacturing
-Collaboration with downstream teams to ensure integrated process performance
-Cooperation with Quality Assurance during validations and product release
-Support of process validation studies
-Application of statistical methods for process optimization (DoE, SPC)

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:
-University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field
-4–7 years of experience in upstream bioprocessing
-Proven experience with cell culture, fermentation, bioreactor operation, process development, and scale-up
-Good knowledge of upstream process parameters
-Experience with statistical process optimization is an advantage
-Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
-Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
-Professional working proficiency in English
