Strategic Buyer

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

As Strategic buyer you will contribute to optimising our supply chain and optimal availability of materials. This will help us to continue working on innovative high-tech solutions with our customers.

You will communicate with Dutch branches, suppliers, colleagues
You will sometimes make the impossible possible, which makes us and our customers very happy!

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Executing and optimizing local procurement strategies in alignment with global corporate commodity guidelines.
• Managing plant-level material availability, driving local shortage escalations, and securing production continuity.
• Driving local cost-reduction initiatives (PPV targets) through localized negotiations, localized dual-sourcing, and material substitution.
• Managing component obsolescence, PCNs (Process Change Notices), and local EOL risks in close cooperation with Plant Engineering and Quality.
• Deploying and maintaining plant-specific supplier agreements, including local buffer stocks, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), and consignment programs.
• Analyzing local BOMs (Bill of Materials) for engineering changes (ECOs) to prevent the accumulation of Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
• Optimizing local purchasing parameters (MOQs, lead times, safety stocks) within the ERP system to maximize plant inventory turns.
• Monitoring local supplier KPIs (On-Time Delivery, Plant Quality) and leading local supplier performance reviews.
• Resolving critical invoice discrepancies and localized supplier quality issues (claims, SCAR management) in cooperation with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA).
• Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) phases at the plant level by ensuring material readiness for pilot and prototype runs.
• Cooperating closely with local site departments (Production Scheduling, Quality, Warehouse, Engineering) and corporate procurement functions.
• Actively participating in local continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects to professionalize site supply chain operations.
• Performing other related duties, operational projects, and ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the direct manager
