Embedded Software Developer - C ++

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

The purpose of this role is to take ownership of the platform layer that underpins Kistler software products. By designing and evolving the operating system environment (Yocto) and low-level libraries, you will define how the system performs, scales, and integrates across devices. You will act as a technical bridge between kernel-level development and application teams, ensuring long-term platform stability.

• Design and evolve the architecture of the platform layer (Yocto-based OS and shared libraries)
• Take ownership of system-level design decisions impacting multiple products
• Develop and maintain low-level libraries in C/C++ and scripting environments (Lua, Bash)
• Manage and improve the OS build system (Yocto), ensuring stability and reproducibility
• Optimize Linux-based systems with focus on performance and resource efficiency
• Collaborate with kernel engineers and application teams to define interfaces and system behavior
• Drive technical alignment across teams working on different layers of the stack
• Contribute hands-on to implementation when needed, especially in critical areas
• Identify architectural risks and propose scalable, long-term solutions

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

• 5+ years of experience in embedded or system-level software development
• Strong expertise in C and C++ (C++11/17/20)
• Experience with Linux-based systems and understanding of kernel-level concepts
• Hands-on experience with Yocto build system (must-have)
• Experience with development of low-level libraries or middleware
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design
• Experience with scripting (Lua, Bash) for automation and tooling
• Ability to design software architecture and take ownership of technical decisions
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
