WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT:
We are seeking an expert in digital marketing who will lead and execute Tesco´s digital communication strategy, including GHS (Online shop), across all digital touch-points (social and paid media, performance).
As the key digital strategist, you will lead the strategic development of digital content and media plans that are customer-centric, insight-driven, and fully aligned with Tesco´s brand identity and commercial priorities.
This role blends creative thinking, customer, business and media data interpretation, strategic planning, and flawless execution. It requires strong leadership skills, change management experience, and capability development expertise.
Accountabilities:
Ownership of Digital Communication Ecosystem:
Define and own the structure and logic of Tesco´s full digital communication ecosystem, including GHS (Tesco home delivery), social media, paid digital media, CRM, and owned digital media such as website channels.
Ensure the digital ecosystem delivers a consistent customer journey and effectively supports business and brand goals.
Setting and Fulfilling the Digital Communication Strategy:
Set and evolve the annual digital strategy for both the Tesco brand and GHS (Tesco home delivery), translating commercial objectives into digital communication roadmaps.
Cascade the overall Tesco brand strategy into social media and develop Tesco´s social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), with a deep understanding of each channel´s role and how it integrates into digital campaigns.
Follow and interpret customer research and insight data to inform content and media strategies, ensuring all decisions are customer-led.
Building Up the Digital Communication Plans & Ensuring the Plan Execution:
Lead the annual digital campaign planning cycle in coordination with CE teams and the broader Customer function.
Explore and assess opportunities in emerging platforms (e.g., TikTok, influencer collaborations, short-form content) and translate these into brand-fit, actionable plans.
Ensure the visual identity and tone of Tesco's social channels reflect the brand´s personality and align with all toolkit and guideline frameworks.
Oversee the planning, content development, and execution of social media campaigns — both tactical and brand-building.
Ensure every campaign is measured and evaluated, providing post-campaign analysis, key learnings, and next-step recommendations in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the media agency to define and track relevant KPIs for all digital activities, building a clear and measurable KPI framework.
Guide performancemarketing campaigns in cooperation with media agency partners to optimize results and allocate budgets effectively. Regularly track and review performance campaigns and provide actionable recommendations to improve ROI and customer impact.
Propose test plans and experiments (A/B testing, new channels, formats) to continuously innovate and evolve Tesco´s digital approach.
Manage urgent digital communication needs (e.g., crisis communication, regulatory changes) and coordinate fast, accurate responses. Collaborate with internal functions (Brand, Trade, CE, Clubcard, Own Brand) to integrate digital thinking across campaigns and propositions.
Own the Digital Communication Budget:
Plan, forecast, track (ensuring alignment with financial reporting processes), and optimize investments across platforms.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Experience in managing digital ecosystems and digital customer journeys end-to-end
• Analytical thinking, turning data into insights, Creativity, Presentation, Leadership, Change management, Creative and innovative thinking
• Strategic expertise in social media, content development, influencer strategy, and digital customer engagement and online retail business
• Solid understanding of digital marketing media buying, ad platforms (Meta, Google, programmatic), and performance marketing principles
• Advanced level of english (C1)
