As a one of the production and process leaders in Mega Casting, you will be an integral part of a new organization and real production, pursuing our mission to provide the best casting process and manufacturing of products that accelerate the world to sustainable energy. You will work closely with our management, engineering and project teams in the early and stabilization phases of the Mega Casting process development and equipment to identify manufacturing risks associated with our proposed designs and procedures always aiming to improve and stabilize main KPIs, cycle time, yield, OEE and quality.

What you'll do
  • Equipment Installation, Leadership, Operating Equipment, Operations Management, Production Planning;
  • Supervise a group or team of operational contributors in multi-shift operations and organize their daily workflow along a Mega Casting production;
  • Communicate job expectations clearly, provide necessary instructions and feedback to team members;
  • Oversee all aspects of people planning and management, including short and long-term resource planning, holiday scheduling, and sickness management;
  • Provide training plans and execute trainings for team members;
  • Control and manage all technology parameters and related media, energy, and waste parameters - temperature, pressure, cycle time, melting, and all media control;
  • Set up the process parameters and controls to standardize the production process while achieving quality of the product and process;
  • Coordinate maintenance and Die maintenance setup with cross-functional teams;
  • Develop process improvements that can have an impact globally in other Volvo Cars factories;
  • Lead process development of the die casting process through parameter optimization, OEE and OPR optimization, and trials that will lead to a robust process;
  • Lead casting process (Manufacturing, Assembly, Supply Chain, Cost, Serviceability, Sustainability, Reliability, Safety, etc.), and work closely with product design engineering teams to ensure that critical changes are incorporated in a timely manner;
  • Oversee operator instructions, critical parameters, checklists, and training materials for all casting operations, update special equipment service manuals, including BOMs, drawings, wiring schematics, recommended processes, technical expertise, and tooling for optimization of production runs;
  • Be responsible for running the casting process, safety, and product quality, evaluate problems, and come with problem-solving activities;
  • Production planning - contribute data and information to production plans, run reports, check accuracy, and distribute information;
  • Understand, maintain, and lead all equipment before installation, assembly, and test operations while driving process improvements, cost reduction activities, and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll bring
  • Preferably a University Education in Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience;
  • Exceptional understanding of the interactions between the high-pressure die casting process conditions (e. g. die temperature, die & tip lube application, shot profile, etc.) and how they influence the metallurgical and structural integrity of cast aluminum components and new mega casting characteristics;
  • Niece to have = several years of experience in high-pressure aluminum die casting process design, manufacturing engineering, equipment commissioning, robot programming, and control systems design;
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes for new and unique products; 
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype to production; 
  • Experience in defining and assessing quality standards associated with common manufacturing processes, including drawing specifications, limit samples, and incoming/outgoing quality control points with a proven track record of steering products from tool release to mass production;
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC, die casting, stamping, assembly, and box building in a production setting, with an overall understanding of the costs and complexity associated with each process;
  • Flexibility, being able not only to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project, but thrive in such a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, preferably conversational Slovak language, written and spoken and/or English; 
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Compensation Data

Base Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 2.200 EUR.
* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
