Customs Specialist

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:
Our GBS Customs team is expanding with new tasks & responsibilities to support Customs import agenda in US entities from ams Osram group.

For this new role of Customs Specialist, we are looking for an experienced customs specialist who is familiar with general customs agenda, customs principles and has practical experience with customs tasks (in Slovakia or Europe).
No particular experience with US customs activities/operations is required, as there will be provided a detailed training after joining the team.

Main responsibilities:
• Day-to-day broker management, monitoring and replying to emails concerning Customs shipments missing information (e.g. missing HTS classifications, part numbers and countries of origin),
• Contacting brokers about errors on shipments concerning duties and errors that need to be corrected along with follow-up on corrections and Customs refunds,
• Escalating import issues or government inquiries to regional manager,
• Updating parts database with new or changed part numbers and HTS classifications,
• Assisting in HTS classifications,
• Assist in downloading, auditing and approving or disputing broker invoices for payment,
• Coding and uploading approved broker invoices for payment,
• Assisting regional manager in periodic monthly statements.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:
• Written and verbal English language proficiency (fluent English, min. B2)
• Familiarity with general Customs processes
• Experience with HTS classification, General rules of interpretation, etc.
• SAP experience
