Azure Data Engineer

We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join the Zurich Integrated Benefits (ZIB) team. In this role, you will:

• Solve high impact business problems in support of ZIB, which manages a global employee benefit platform and supports corporate life insurance business in multiple markets.
• Be part of an entrepreneurially minded global team, which is daring to challenge the status quo,

• Further develop your hard skills by working with internal and external analytics experts.

• Design, set-up and oversee the end-to-end data pipeline for ZIB using primarily the Azure ecosystem.
• Analyze data pipelining / ETL problems independently and assess the best data model and technology approach of how to solve them.
• Collect, ingest, and integrate data sets from multiple countries.
• Load transformed data into destination SQL database.
• Support design and maintenance of the destination data model.
• Support design and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards
• Set-up data quality monitoring checks and reports.
• Work in close collaboration with the ZIB business analytics team.

• Experience required:
  • Data pipelining using Microsoft Azure toolset, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage and Databricks.
  • Strong experience with SQL.
  • Familiarity with software developer toolkit (such as Git, DevOps, etc).
  • Familiarity with data governance in international environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good to have:
  • Sound Python or R skills.
  • Experience with .NET (C#).
  • Experience with SSRS and/or Power BI
  • Prior work experience in insurance or finance industry.

• Hybrid working: It would be nice to meet you in the office 2-3 times a week, if you live close by. We are also open to hear your preference to work from home more often
