Data engineer (fintech)

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

Our client is a globally focused fintech company based in Bratislava that aims to transform the way people understand and manage their finances.

We are looking for a passionate Data engineer to strengthen the team and help shape the future of  backend systems.

​As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain robust server-side applications that power high-performance services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver strong backend solutions while continuously improving code quality, architecture and performance.

What You'll Do

• Architect, build and maintain backend services and APIs
• Work with relational & non relational databases and craft efficient queries
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex technical challenges
• Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Help enhance our CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Ensure high performance, security, and reliability of backend systems

• Python– strong programming experience
• SQL– hands-on experience querying and optimizing databases
• Teamwork– excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset

• Personal development projects demonstrating backend expertise
• Messaging or streaming data systems (RabbitMQ / Kafka)
• CI/CD tooling and workflows
• Apache Airflow orchestration
• Natural language processing (NLP)
• Graph databases & network graph concepts
• Vector databases or object storage systems
• Parallel processing techniques
• Redis caching & in-memory data stores
• Docker containerization
• Go programming language
• QuestDB or similar high-performance time-series databases
• Kubernetes ecosystem experience
