As part of Lenovo’s Global HR organization, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration and delivery of payroll services for Lenovo employees across Europe. The role sits within the EMEA Payroll team and supports outsourced payroll operations by partnering closely with internal HR teams, Lenovo Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate end‑to‑end payroll processing and effective payroll query management. The Payroll Specialist prepares and validates payroll input data, performs checks and reviews payroll calculations throughout the monthly payroll cycle, and supports payroll output distribution, including pay slip delivery on payday. This position is a maternity leave backfill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for responding to employee payroll queries and providing accurate and timely resolution
- Partner with internal stakeholders and Lenovo Finance teams on payroll‑related matters
- Ensure payroll queries are managed within agreed timelines, escalating to the Payroll Manager when required
- Prepare, validate, and review payroll input data and payroll calculations across all stages of the payroll cycle
- Use payroll tools and systems to support accurate payroll processing
- Support outsourced payroll delivery for EMEA countries
- Ensure adherence to established payroll processes, controls, and internal guidelines
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Payroll Operations, preferably within EMEA payroll
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Experience in a Service Centre and/or HR & Payroll outsourcing environment preferred
- Hands‑on experience with payroll processing, including time management, leave administration (e.g. sick leave), pay processing, payroll taxes, and reporting
- Experience handling payroll queries and resolving employee issues
- Strong customer focus and ability to work with a diverse stakeholder base
- Good relationship management, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
