We’re looking for a Project Manager – Engineering (Static Equipment) to lead all aspects of warehouse static equipment design, procurement, and delivery — including shelving systems, tote storage, flow racks, and all supporting infrastructure that ensures safety, compliance, and performance.

As the Project Manager – Engineering (Static Equipment), you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of static infrastructure for Brightpick customer deployments. From the moment a project is scoped during pre-sales to the final handover of a fully operational system, you’ll ensure every structural element is designed, engineered, and delivered to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. This is a high-impact technical leadership role, working cross-functionally with Sales, Solution Engineering, Procurement, Project Execution, and external vendors in both the EU and the US.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle management of static warehouse equipment — from design and specification to procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Evaluate and select solutions for shelving systems, tote storage, flow racks, mezzanines, and related infrastructure to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all structural, fire suppression, and seismic zone standards, including local building codes, NFPA, IBC, and EN regulations.
  • Define and enforce engineering specifications, including load calculations, floor flatness tolerances, clearances, and system interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Pre-Sales teams to determine optimal product selection and layout during solution design.
  • Manage and coordinate vendor engagements, technical reviews, customization requirements, and delivery timelines.
  • Drive cost optimization and risk mitigation, ensuring quality and compliance without compromising delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight during on-site installations, inspections, and final acceptance testing.
  • Maintain strong project documentation, including drawings, BOMs, engineering approvals, and change orders.
  • Serve as the internal SME for all static equipment topics across Brightpick’s global project portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Structural / Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Solid senior experience managing warehouse infrastructure or material handling equipment projects
  • Strong understanding of warehouse rack systems, structural design principles, fire suppression systems, and seismic compliance
  • Proven experience in vendor selection, procurement, and managing technical scope with third-party suppliers
  • Excellent understanding of building and fire codes in EU and/or US
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, structural calculations, and design standards
  • Strong project management skills — planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Fluent in Slovak and English
