We are seeking a Research Engineer to be a pivotal part of our team, taking our state-of-the-art Vision Guided Robotics (VGR) solutions to the next level. Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and shape all stages of our cutting-edge 3D localization engine's development, spanning research, design, and implementation.
• Design and implement advanced algorithms for 3D data processing (point clouds, meshes, etc.).
• Stay at the forefront of academic and industry research in computer vision and AI.
• Collaborate with our world-class R&D team to integrate your solutions into our product portfolio.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, robust, and efficient code in C++ and Python.
• Contribute to our knowledge base by documenting your research, experiments, and results.

Requirements:

• Strong background in mathematics, computer science, computer graphics, physics or a related STEM field (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred).

• Proven programming experience in C++ and Python.

• A deep understanding of computer vision and 3D geometry concepts.

• Hands-on experience with libraries such as OpenCV, PCL, and VTK.

• Familiarity with topics like point clouds, meshes, octrees, the ICP algorithm, and feature matching.

• The ability to bridge the gap: Knowing when to use a deep neural network and when a classic geometric approach (or a hybrid of both) is the most robust and efficient solution.

• Experience with optimization libraries like CERES-solver is a significant plus.

• A curious and analytical mindset, with a passion for solving challenging problems.

• Fluency in English.
