CI/CD Engineer (Local Cache Development & Operations)

Do you enjoy building reliable delivery platforms that make engineering teams faster? We are looking for a CI/CD Engineer to join Deutsche Telekom’s Technology Delivery International (TDI). You will take end-to-end ownership of the MagentaCI/CD Local Cache—a critical on-premises extension of our central platform designed to ensure resilient, low-latency software distribution across European markets, even in air-gapped scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Operate: Design and evolve the Local Cache architecture, focusing on high availability for GitLab and JFrog Artifactory Edge.
• Data Strategy: Optimize data synchronization and replication mechanisms (mirroring, federated resources) between central and local nodes.
• Platform Automation: Drive full-lifecycle automation (provisioning, updates) using Kubernetes and GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux).
• Developer Enablement: Improve the developer experience through self-service templates, documentation, and standardized "golden paths."
• Reliability: Maintain SLIs/SLOs (hit rate, latency) and lead root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure incidents.

What we are looking for (Must-haves)

• CI/CD Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI and artifact management (Artifactory/Nexus).
• Cloud-Native Skills: Solid experience operating production workloads on Kubernetes (networking, storage, and HA patterns).
• Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Network Fundamentals: A strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPs, DNS) and secure communication (TLS/PKI).
• Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who enjoys owning a product from the first line of code to the on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD/Flux) and OpenStack.
• Observability experience (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK).
• Security knowledge (Supply-chain security, SBOM, vulnerability scanning).
