Backend (NodeJS) Developer

At Simplicity, we build ambitious digital products for global markets - including an AI-powered travel app and a real estate platform.

We’re looking for a Backend Developer who wants to build, ship and improve real products, take ownership of their work and have a direct impact on how our technology evolves. If you’re a full-stack developer, there’s plenty of room to contribute on the frontend in React as well.

We’re a small, hands-on team, so we’re looking for people who think about how things can be improved and aren’t afraid to learn technologies they haven’t worked with before. You don’t need to know everything from day one - curiosity, common sense and the willingness to get things done matter to us.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop and maintain backend services primarily using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Build and maintain APIs and work with PostgreSQL as the core database.

• Work with AWS infrastructure, including services such as Lambda and ECS.

• Work with additional technologies such as DynamoDB and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, depending on the product.

• Take ownership of features from implementation through deployment and production.

• Collaborate closely with frontend developers and contribute to technical and product decisions.

• Help improve deployment and infrastructure processes – experience with Terraform, CI/CD or containerisation is a strong plus.

• Use AI tools in day-to-day development and contribute to integrating LLMs and AI features into our products.

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js or NestJS and TypeScript.

• Good practical knowledge of PostgreSQL.

• Experience building and maintaining backend APIs.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership and learn technologies you haven’t worked with before.

• Fluent Slovak is required for day-to-day team communication.

• Comfortable working full-time on-site in Bratislava (5/5).
  

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS, particularly Lambda or ECS.

• Experience with DynamoDB, another NoSQL database, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.

• Experience with Terraform, Docker, CI/CD or other DevOps/infrastructure tools is a strong advantage.

• Experience with GraphQL.

• Interest or practical experience with AI tools, LLMs or OpenAI integrations is welcome.

• Experience with React, React Native or full-stack development.
