BI Application Engineer (Tableau)

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated BI Application Engineer to join our Reporting Platforms team. You will be responsible for backend support and evolution of our enterprise BI infrastructure, ensuring the stability, scalability, and secure operation of our Tableau, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (MSSAS), and WebFocus platforms. You will also contribute to projects that build on these platforms, integrating with cloud-based data sources and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and support the setup and infrastructure for Tableau, MSSAS and WebFocus.

- Focus on platform administration, performance tuning, and system reliability - not report development.

- Collaborate with infrastructure and data engineering teams to ensure high availability and performance of reporting systems.

- Support business projects by enabling data connectivity, troubleshooting platform issues, and optimizing platform performance and stability.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts and monitoring tools (Python preferred).

- Contribute to the integration of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, GCP BigQuery) with on-premise reporting tools.

- Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning initiatives.

- Document technical processes and provide knowledge sharing within the team.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in BI platform administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Tableau Server/Desktop, MSSAS, WebFocus or Power BI.
- Solid understanding of Windows-based environments and administration.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, Google BigQuery).
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to Vienna (about once every 2 weeks).

Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with platform monitoring, access management, and backend troubleshooting in BI environments.
- Experience with Tableau Cloud or hybrid deployments.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for BI environments.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and security compliance in BI contexts.
