O pozícii
Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:
About the role
Eyerim is one of the largest online opticians in Central and Eastern Europe, and our Lens Lab in Senec sits right at the center of how we deliver for customers. Every pair of glasses we ship passes through here, and the quality of that work directly shapes the experience our customers have with us.
We've always tried to think a little differently about the optical business, and the Lab is where a lot of that thinking gets put into practice. Over the next few years we expect to roughly double Lab volume year-over-year, expand our machinery footprint, and continue building internal tools that make us faster and more precise.
We're looking for someone to lead this work — both the day-to-day operation and the longer journey of where the Lab is heading.
What you'll ownThe day-to-day• Look after the Lens Lab production floor — overseeing lens edging into our supplier frames and making sure every pair that leaves us meets a high standard
• Lead the Processing Center, where the team handles returns and complaints from eyerim.com and our retail stores, along with final packaging before dispatch
• Plan and organize the work of a 10–15 person team across both functions, including hiring, attendance, seasonal capacity planning, and day-to-day people leadership
• Keep consumables, machine servicing, and supplier orders running smoothly — and gradually build the capacity to handle 2x volume comfortably
• Track and report the operational KPIs (error rate, throughput, fulfillment SLAs, lead time) to leadership
The build-side• Partner with our CTO and IT team to identify where automation could help, and to shape the in-house tools that make the Lab more efficient over time
• Help us build more internal tools for Lab processes — you bring the operational understanding, IT brings the engineering, and together we create things no off-the-shelf product would offer us
• Stay open to rethinking processes. If a step exists mainly because “that’s how labs do it,” we’d love your perspective on whether it still serves us
• Plan the Lab's expansion: thinking through what machinery, layout, and processes will support the next phase of growth
• Share your ideas freely. We'd much rather hear them early, even half-formed, than have you wait until everything's perfect
Stakeholders• Manage our lens supplier relationships — pricing, new product introductions, reglazing programs, complaints
• Work closely with CX, Retail, IT, and Logistics on the handoffs that make the customer experience feel seamless
Zamestnanecké výhody, benefity:
What we offer
• Real ownership of an area the company is investing in heavily, with room to leave a meaningful mark
• Salary: €2,400–3,200 / month gross, depending on experience, plus a performance-based variable tied to Lab KPIs
• Unlimited vacation policy — take the time you need, when you need it
• A CTO and engineering team who genuinely listen to ideas from operations
• MultiSport card and employee discounts on eyerim.com and partner brands
• An informal, collaborative culture where asking “could we do this better?” is welcomed
Požiadavky na zamestnanca:
Who you are
• A problem solver at heart. When something goes wrong, your first instinct is to figure out how to prevent it next time, rather than to look for who's at fault. You're as comfortable on the floor as you are stepping back to redesign a workflow.
• A builder mindset. You see automation and tooling as part of your role too — done in partnership with IT, not delegated to them. You can articulate a process problem clearly enough for an engineer to build around, and you have a feel for when a tool is the answer and when a better SOP is.
• A thoughtful people leader. A 10–15 person team works well with you because you're fair, present, and clear about expectations.
• Operationally rigorous. You care about quality, throughput, and whether the numbers in the report actually add up.
• Open-minded about how things are done. You're curious about better ways and don't take “that’s how it’s always been” as a final answer.
Requirements• 4+ years in operations leadership (production, fulfillment, lab, warehouse, or similar), with at least 2 years managing teams of 8+
• Demonstrated track record of designing or improving processes, ideally with measurable before/after results you can walk us through
• Comfort working closely with technical teams. You don't need to code, but you need to be able to spec, prioritize, and partner with engineers
• Strong working English (used with our suppliers and across the company) and Slovak fluency (you'll be leading a Slovak-speaking team)
• Solid PC literacy — Excel/Sheets, comfortable with data, willing to learn whatever internal tools we build
Nice to have• Background in optics, lens manufacturing, or e-commerce fulfillment
• Experience scaling an operation 2x or more
• Familiarity with lab management softwares, WMS, or ERP
• Prior exposure to lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen-style improvement work
