O pozícii
Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:
As a Robotics QA Engineer, you'll make sure Brightpick robot software is reliable and field-ready before it ever reaches a customer. You'll work hands-on with our autonomous mobile robots in simulation, in our controlled test environment, and out at live customer sites. You'll define and run tests, track issues down to a reproducible root cause, and assess how each release affects the system as a whole. It's QA that goes well beyond traditional software testing, and you'll see the impact of your work first-hand.
The role mixes manual testing and automation. Most of your time goes into test design, execution and investigation, but writing code is a regular part of the job too: test scripts, small tools, and log and data analysis. When assigned, you'll also help move the vertical's automation agenda forward.
Location
Bratislava
Type of employment
Full-time
Salary (brutto)
From € 2200/month based on seniority and experience
Core responsibilities:
- Define and execute tests for robot software - functional, regression and integration scenarios on simulators, in the controlled test environment and on live hardware.
- Investigate and report issues - uncover even well-hidden glitches, replicate them reliably, and produce clear bug reports and replication scenarios so developers can resolve them quickly.
- Assess each release for its system-wide impact on stability and performance, and verify that new features deliver an optimal user experience
- Maintain test procedures and regression suites as product features evolve and SW/HW is upgraded.
- Write code as part of daily work and contribute to the vertical's automation agenda when assigned, within the roadmap and standards set by the RQA Automation Technical Lead.
- Support deployment — assist with on-site integration and commissioning of new features (including travel), execute SW roll-outs, and feed field findings back into testing.
- Collaborate and communicate progress, risks and insights with QA, development, SW Delivery and project management colleagues.
- Stay ahead of the system - keep up with the evolving robotics platform and propose improvements to test coverage, procedures and automation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
- Programming experience: AI coding assistants are part of everyone's daily workflow here. You should have hands-on programming experience, preferably in Python or C++ (from studies, personal projects or previous work), and be comfortable using AI tools to write, understand and debug code. Proficiency is not expected, but you should be able to read and judge the code AI helps you produce, and be motivated to grow toward test automation.
- Linux: Basic command-line skills, like navigating the system, checking logs, running scripts.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles - test scenarios, bug reporting, regression testing.
- Strong interest in autonomous systems and willingness to learn how robot hardware, software and network interact.
- Analytically driven, with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with hands-on physical work with real robot hardware, maintaining safe behavior and strict adherence to safety around moving components.
- Fluent Slovak; English at upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher.
Nice to have:
- Experience in robotics, mechatronics or hardware integration.
- Deeper Python or C++ skills, or experience writing automated tests.
- Docker, testing libraries (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Google Test), familiarity with UX/UI.
- Version control (Git) and planning tool (Jira) proficiency.
- Knowledge of ROS, Docker and Ansible is a plus.
- AI-augmented efficiency: Eager to use AI tools daily to speed up testing, log analysis and bug reporting.
