About the role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Procurement Specialist Data to join our dynamic team. This key role focuses on the strategic procurement of third-party data essential for the reinsurance and insurance sectors, including financial markets information like prices and statistics, market risk data, ratings, ESG data, as well as geographical and weather information, satellite data and much more. You’ll be involved in data procurement activities that address a variety of advanced and meaningful use cases.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the procurement of a wide range of third-party data to ensure access to essential market insights and analytics.
• Manage commercial negotiations and oversee the full contract lifecycle - from initiation to completion - including legal reviews and vendor assessments.
• Run structured RFx processes and follow up with careful contract management to maintain high standards of compliance and efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs and deepen understanding of reinsurance and insurance processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet digital governance requirements and support the organisation’s strategic goals.
About the Team
Joining our Data Procurement team means becoming a key part of IT & Data Procurement within the Group Procurement Team at Swiss Re. We’re a high-performing unit that values teamwork, continuous learning, and personal growth. With team members based in Bratislava, Zurich, London, Mexico, and Bangalore, we work across regions to deliver strong procurement practices and support strategic business goals.

About You
• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, ideally in Economics, Business Administration, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
• You bring 3–4 years of experience in data procurement or a related field - such as Business Analysis, Vendor Management, or Strategic Sourcing - within a global organisation.
• You are driven to understand how third-party data supports different business areas, and while familiarity with financial market data is a plus, you’re eager to build expertise in this area.
• You have strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings and improving service quality.
• You are detail-oriented and process-driven, with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
• You communicate fluently in English; knowledge of another language (especially German) is a plus.
• You are proactive, enjoy solving problems, and are eager to keep learning and contribute to customer success.
