O pozícii

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

About this position

We are seeking a highly creative and curious Junior Research Engineer who wants to live at the intersection of complex mathematics, 3D computer vision, and physical tinkering. If you are fresh out of school (or graduating soon) and consider yourself a "Maker" who loves math and code, this is for you.

You might not have years of experience, and that is perfectly fine. We are looking for someone smart, dedicated, and passionate about making digital concepts interact seamlessly with the physical world of lenses, lasers, and sensors. Whether it's helping figure out how to squeeze more accuracy out of a 3D scanner or assisting in building a custom calibration station in the lab, you will get to see how your code translates to real-world perception. We will provide the mentorship; you bring the curiosity.

Location

Bratislava, Slovakia

Type of Employment

Full-time

Salary (brutto)

From €2000/month for full-time or €10/hour for part-time (based on work experience and overall qualifications)

R&D Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applied 3D Algorithmic Development: Work with senior engineers to design, write, and test algorithms for 3D machine vision, structured light, and point cloud processing.
  • Calibration & Test Rig Prototyping: Get hands-on in the lab. Help build, assemble, and test custom mechatronic calibration stations and testing rigs to validate optical models.
  • Hardware/Software Integration: Learn how to review optics, sensor placements, and lighting alongside the hardware team to ensure they complement the software architecture.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Bridge the gap between math and physics. Help the team figure out if a noisy 3D scan is best solved by writing a smarter software filter or tweaking a physical lens.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree (or soon to graduate) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Vision, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: No long career history needed. We want to see your academic thesis, university lab work, or personal projects related to machine vision, computational geometry, or robotics.
  • Algorithm/Software Foundation: A solid foundational grasp of 3D mathematics, geometry, and coding (e.g., C++, Python, OpenCV, or similar).
  • Maker’s Hardware Intuition: A practical interest in how vision hardware works. You like playing with cameras, optics, or basic microcontrollers (Arduino/Raspberry Pi) and aren't afraid to pick up a tool.

Essential attributes:

  • Agile & Eager Learner: You love tinkering with new vision sensors, learning new mathematical frameworks, and figuring out how light and geometry interact.
  • Creative Systems Thinker (in training): You want to learn how to see the calibration target, the optical hardware, and the software as one single, cohesive organism.
  • Collaborative Team Player: You enjoy diving into a whiteboard full of math with software peers just as much as looking over a 3D-printed jig with the hardware team.
