Mid/senior python back-end developer

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

We are looking for a skilled Python developer for a globally focused fintech company based in Bratislava that aims to transform the way people understand and manage their finances.

About the project:

Our client is building a platform for intelligent investment decision-making. The solution combines real market data (stocks, ETFs, bonds, commodities, and macroeconomic indicators) with AI agents that generate analyses, predictions, and portfolio recommendations.

The project is currently in the prototype phase, and the client is looking for backend developers to join their team.

Whatyou will do:

• Design and implement REST API endpoints (CRUD for portfolios, watchlists, transactions, alerts)
• Implement authentication and authorization (JWT, role-based access)
• Extend the ingestion pipeline — new data sources, backfill strategies, error handling
• Work with async Python — FastAPI, SQLAlchemy 2.0 (async), asyncpg, redis.asyncio
• Write tests (pytest, TDD flow — tests before implementation)
• Participate in architectural decisions (message queues, caching, scaling)
• Review code (including AI-generated code)

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

What we expect from you

Must have:

• 3+ years of experience with Python backend development (FastAPI or Django/Flask with willingness to transition to FastAPI)
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL (joins, indexing, migrations)
• Experience with async Python (asyncio, async/await)
• Habit of writing tests — not necessarily 100% coverage, but core logic must be covered
• Git workflow (feature branches, PR reviews)
• Docker — ability to read Dockerfile, docker-compose.yml, and debug containers

Nice to have:

• Experience with Redis (queues, pub/sub, caching)
• Experience with financial data
• SQLAlchemy 2.0 (new Mapped syntax)
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes
• AI tooling
