What will you do? 
As a Software Test Engineer you will perform implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for a agile software development and you will also be:

- Design and implement automated test suites for RESTful APIs using Karate, leveraging Gherkin syntax and reusable scenario outlines
- Use Postman for exploratory API testing, validation, and test data setup
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps to validate backend functionality and integration points
- Maintain and enhance the existing Karate-based automation framework, including utilities for authentication, response parsing, and data formatting
- Support manual testing efforts for backend workflows
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and test case reviews
- Document test strategies, test cases, and results in alignment with team standards.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:
What you have:
- Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace
- Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements
- System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle
- Proven experience in backend/API testing
- Hands-on experience with the Karate framework for API automation or similar tools/frameworks
- Proficiency in Postman for API testing and validation
- Solid understanding of RESTful API principles, including HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON/XML payloads
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows

Top Candidates will also have:
- Exposure to Playwright or Selenium for UI automation
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or mocking frameworks
- Knowledge of cloud providers (AWS preferred)
