IT / Technology Internship 2026 (Java / C++ & Python / Java in Testing)

ROLE INTRODUCTION

Our 6 months Internship programme offers talented University students an opportunity to go beyond the classroom to develop professional skills and gain meaningful hands on experience working as part of a global team with professionals across the enterprise. Additionally, interns will participate in scheduled activities throughout the summer, including sessions with Senior Leaders & and other programme members, site tours and other social events.

START DATE: 1st July 2026
END DATE: 6 months after the start date
WORKING HOURS: 20 hours/week
LOCATION: Bratislava, Slovakia
SALARY: Starting from 8-10.5€/hour

WHAT WILL YOU DO
Internship roles will be available in the following department areas:

• APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT in Java – The project is called Data provisioning and it’s a one shop solution for our clients for whom we generate and distribute statements, invoices, reports etc. We make extensive use of artificial intelligence agents integrated into IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate and Visual Studio Code, leveraging the latest AI models such as GPT‑Codex, Claude, and Gemini. These tools provide significant benefits during development by improving coding efficiency and enhancing the resilience and robustness of our codebase.

You’ll be responsible for writing microservices in Java/Spring Boot, JUnits, using Git as code versioning tool. But you will be also responsible for its quality. To ensure quality we have several automated tools like SonarQube, Fortify, WebInspect incorporated in our CI/CD pipelines.

• DEVELOPMENT OF AUTOMATED TESTING in JAVA – The project is called Data provisioning and it’s a one shop solution for our clients for whom we generate and distribute statements, invoices, reports etc.

You’ll be responsible for writing automated test scenarios in Fiserv's customised JAVA framework using Git as code versioning tool. But you will be also responsible for its quality. It uses cloud-native architecture and is dockerized via Gitlab pipelines using ArgoCD for CD into environments.

• APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT in C++ and/or Python – The projects focus on our applications for real-time test payment transaction execution, observability and monitoring of payments, and management of individual applications leveraging AWS infrastructure to run a highly available Kubernetes environment.

You will be responsible for developing and analyzing enhancements based on input and consultation from senior team members. The goal is for the improvements to be usable on a daily basis by any member of our Switching domain team, improving quality and having a real impact on the tens of millions of transactions processed each day.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

! The students must be in their penultimate year of study. Completing the Masters / Engineers degree in 2026 or completing their Bachelors degree in 2026 and not planning to progress to Master/Engineer !

• Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English.

• We expect basic overview and skills in the area you're applying for.

• Must have advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge and have a technical aptitude to learn new applications quickly.

• Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines.

• Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills.

• Optionally, we would prefer students with grade average better than 1.5 (B).
