Test Manager (f/m) - Aviaton

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

Join our Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) team. We build software that aviation professionals worldwide use to create, manage and publish aeronautical data and information. Because this data supports flight operations, our products work in a regulated, safety-relevant environment where reliability, traceability and documented quality really matter.

As a Test Manager, you will define and drive the testing strategy, lead QA activities across projects, and help build a strong quality culture throughout the organization. You will collaborate closely with Development, Product Management, and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the test strategy and overall quality approach across our software development projects. 

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. 

• Lead, support, and develop the QA/Test team, including resource and capacity planning. 

• Define test plans, scope, effort estimates, priorities, and acceptance/exit criteria for releases. 

• Ensure requirements-to-test traceability and test evidence that meet the expectations of a regulated, safety-relevant domain. 

• Coordinate functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing, including test automation. 

• Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect triage, prioritization, resolution tracking and escalation. 

• Monitor and communicate testing progress, quality KPIs, risks, defects and release readiness to project stakeholders. 

• Drive test automation, CI/CD integration and continuous improvement of testing processes, tools and methodologies. 

• Provide quality and risk assessments for releases and contribute to go/no-go decisions. 

• International collaboration offers opportunities to travel to our international clients approximately 2-4 times per year for short business trips lasting a few days. 

Cooperation and Communication Across the Company 

• Act as a key point of contact for testing and software quality topics across projects and teams. 

• Build strong cooperation with Development, Product, Project Management and other stakeholders to ensure common quality goals. 

• Communicate quality status, testing progress, risks and critical issues clearly and proactively to relevant stakeholders. 

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and decision-making related to defects, quality risks and release readiness. 

• Promote a shared quality mindset, ensuring that software quality is seen as a responsibility of the whole development organization. 

Quality Improvements 

• Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve testing processes, standards, methodologies and tools. 

• Drive the development and adoption of test automation and CI/CD-based quality controls. 

• Define, monitor and evaluate quality KPIs and testing metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities. 

• Analyze recurring defects and production issues, identify root causes and drive preventive actions. 

• Promote early testing, defect prevention and continuous quality improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

Professional Experience 

• 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including at least 2 years as Test Manager, QA Lead or in a similar role. 

• Strong experience with test planning, coordination and execution across functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing. 

• Practical experience with defect management, release quality assessment and risk-based testing.  

• Experience working in Agile software development environments and collaborating across development, product and project teams. 

• Advantage is experience with software in a regulated or safety-critical domain (e.g. aviation/ATM, rail, automotive, medical, defence). 

Leadership and Collaboration  

• Ability to lead, support and develop QA/Test teams 

• Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage testing activities across multiple teams and projects. 

• Ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making and build effective cooperation between QA, Development, Product and Project Management. 

 Technical Skills 

• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, Azure DevOps and comparable tools). 

• Good understanding of test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Robot Framework). 

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI / ReadyAPI or Swagger / OpenAPI. 

• Working knowledge of CI/CD environments, Git and automated testing pipelines. 

• Basic knowledge of SQL, databases, application logs and monitoring tools for troubleshooting and test validation.
