Country Manager / Managing Director Slovakia (m/f/d) – Intermodal Logistics | Business Development | Executive Leadership

Location: Slovakia (flexible location / hybrid model)

We are an established international logistics company headquartered in Austria, specialising in intermodal transport, container logistics and international freight solutions.

As part of our long-term growth strategy, we are establishing our own company in Slovakia to further strengthen our presence in Central and South-Eastern Europe.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to take responsibility for the Slovak market and become a key member of our international management team.

Unlike a typical start-up environment, you will not be building the business from scratch. You will leverage an established international logistics organisation with an existing European intermodal network, experienced operational teams, proven business processes, modern IT systems and long-standing customer relationships. From day one, you will have access to operational resources and cross-border business opportunities across several European markets.

Your Mission

Your mission is to establish and lead our Slovak organisation while driving sustainable and profitable growth.

Working directly with the executive management in Austria, you will combine strategic leadership with hands-on business development. You will be empowered to shape the local organisation while relying on the strength and support of an established international logistics group.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead our Slovak subsidiary.

• Develop and execute the company's strategy for the Slovak market.

• Expand our activities in intermodal transport, freight forwarding and container logistics.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing international customers.

• Leverage our established European network to generate cross-border business and create long-term customer partnerships.

• Build and maintain relationships with railway operators, terminals, shipping lines, logistics providers and key industry stakeholders.

• Recruit, develop and lead the local team.

• Ensure operational excellence, commercial success and sustainable profitability.

• Represent the company in the Slovak market and contribute to the further expansion of our international logistics network.

Your Profile

You are an entrepreneurial leader with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for developing businesses.

You bring:

• Several years of management experience within intermodal logistics, freight forwarding, rail logistics or international transportation.

• A proven track record in business development, sales and customer acquisition.

• Experience in leading teams and developing organizations.

• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

• An established network within the Slovak logistics market is highly desirable.

• Fluency in Slovak and English; German is an advantage.
