Product Owner (m/f)

Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner who will take end-to-end ownership of FW-based access control products The role acts as a bridge between the market, firmware development and production, with responsibility for driving product value, roadmap execution and delivery quality.

Responsibilities

- Own and maintain the product backlog to maximize product value.

- Contribute to and refine the product roadmap.

- Lead sprint planning and backlog prioritization.

- Define and maintain user stories with clear scope and acceptance criteria.

- Ensure product quality across the full product lifecycle.

- Monitor support status and field feedback.

- Report progress, risks and key updates to the Product Manager.

- Contribute to marketing materials for the assigned product range.

- Cover Business Intelligence insights within the product scope.

- Break down the roadmap into user stories and development iterations.

- Cooperate daily with Product Manager, Product Owners, firmware, hardware and software teams, as well as the Production Manager.

- Coordinate firmware, hardware and system-level dependencies.

- Ensure OEM adaptations, are properly specified and delivered.

- Maintain necessary contact with partners, customers and suppliers.

- Participate in sprint ceremonies, including planning, demos and retrospectives.

- Take part in business meetings and product discussions.

- Support production readiness and ramp-up.

- Ensure compliance with internal processes, including quality, purchasing, certifications and related routines.

- Follow company policies and reporting routines.

- Act as an informal leader across teams, without the need for direct reports.

- Drive alignment between product, development and production.

- Take ownership and follow through on decisions.

- Apply long-term, product-oriented thinking.

- Stay motivated by delivering product quality and business value.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager or Project Manager role.

- Experience with embedded or firmware-based products.

- Proven end-to-end product lifecycle ownership.

- Experience working in an international environment.

- Strong understanding of embedded firmware.

- Strong understanding of Linux-based embedded platforms.

- Good understanding of hardware, firmware and system interaction.

- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.

- Ability to discuss architecture, interfaces and technical constraints with engineers.

- Experience with Agile / Scrum ways of working.

- Experience with backlog management and sprint planning.

- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps or similar tools.

- Understanding of product KPIs.

- Business and cost awareness.

- English language at B2+ level, used in daily communication.

- Business- and customer-oriented mindset.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Structured and analytical thinking.

- Ability to prioritize and make decisions.

- Knowledge of access control systems and card readers.

- Knowledge of smart cards, including Mifare, DESFire and NFC.

- Knowledge of OSDP protocol.

- Experience with certifications, including security, RF and compliance.

- Experience or awareness of the EU Cyber Resilience Act.

- Knowledge of Aliro and mobile credentials.

- Experience with OEM product customization.

- Experience with communication protocols such as TCP/IP, RS485 and CAN.

- Technical firmware understanding combined with a strong product mindset.
