Java Developer with DevOps skills

Are you passionate about cloud-native technologies and want to shape the future of mobility? We are looking for a Java developer with DevOps skills to join an agile project team developing cutting-edge backend components for a leading German automotive manufacturer.

Your Role

In this project, modern backend components are developed as microservices using Java. These services are containerized and deployed in the client's private AWS cloud environment, orchestrated using Kubernetes. You will take ownership of the operations side of the solution, fully embracing the DevOps approach.

You will work as part of a small, agile team consisting of:

• A lead developer

• A Java developer with devops skills (that’s where you come in!)

• A proxy product owner

The team follows a Scrum-inspired agile methodology and collaborates closely with a neighboring project team responsible for the integration of a BMC-based standard support system. While this system is implemented separately, continuous communication and coordination between the teams is essential.

What You Bring

• Good knowledge of java (JDK21), springboot, junit jupiter, github/git
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Familiarity with Java-based microservices is a plus
  
• Agile mindset and experience working in Scrum teams
  
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS (or similar cloud platforms)
  
• Experience with other technologies like: IntelliJ, Maven, Kibana, OpenSearch, Instana, Mattermost, Spring Security, Jersey, Hazelcast, Swagger, Mockito, etc. is a big plus
  

• Good knowledge of English language and understanding of German language
