The SAP Operations Lead and IT Support

The SAP Operations Lead and IT Support is a senior technical role responsible for managing SAP systems operations and providing comprehensive IT infrastructure support for the Trnava manufacturing plant. This position serves as the bridge between business operations and IT systems, ensuring seamless integration of SAP modules with plant operations while leading IT support activities and team coordination.

SAP OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (70%)

System Administration & Optimization

Manage daily SAP operations ensuring 99.5%+ system availability for production environment

Administer SAP modules with focus on MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), QM (Quality Management), and WM (Warehouse Management)

Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and preventive maintenance activities

Coordinate SAP upgrades, patches, and enhancement implementations with headquarters IT

Manage SAP user accounts, authorizations, and security profiles in compliance with automotive industry standards

Business Process Support

Support production planning, inventory management, and quality control processes through SAP

Collaborate with Production, Quality, Logistics, and Procurement departments to optimize SAP workflows

Design and implement custom reports and dashboards for operational KPIs monitoring

Troubleshoot SAP functional issues and coordinate resolution with SAP functional consultants

Train end-users on SAP best practices and new functionalities

Integration & Data Management

Ensure seamless integration between SAP and MES (Manufacturing Execution System)

Manage interfaces between SAP and third-party systems (EDI, quality systems, warehouse automation)

Monitor data quality, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems

Support digitalization initiatives and Industry 4.0 projects involving SAP connectivity

IT INFRASTRUCTURE & SUPPORT (25%)

IT Systems Management

Oversee plant IT infrastructure including servers, networks, workstations, and mobile devices

Manage IT service desk operations and coordinate resolution of technical issues

Ensure cybersecurity compliance following IATF 16949 and ISO 27001 guidelines

Maintain IT documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and asset inventory

Coordinate with headquarters IT for infrastructure projects and standardization initiatives

Technical Support & Problem Resolution

Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for complex IT and SAP issues

Manage incident and problem management processes using ITIL framework

Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized support

Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems

Support production equipment connectivity and industrial automation systems

IT Security & Compliance

Implement and monitor IT security policies and access controls

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments

Ensure compliance with automotive industry cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434) Manage antivirus, firewall, and network security systems

Train employees on IT security awareness and best practices

TEAM SUPPORT & COORDINATION (5%)

Team Management

Foster collaborative culture between IT and operational departments

Lead by example demonstrating technical expertise and problem-solvingcapabilities

Project Coordination

Lead IT projects including system implementations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements Prepare project plans, timelines, and resource requirements

Coordinate stakeholder communication and change management activities

Track project progress and report status to Plant Manager and headquarters IT

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization

Strategic Planning

Participate in plant IT strategy development aligned with business objectives

Evaluate new technologies and propose IT investments supporting manufacturing excellence

Contribute to IT budget planning and cost control activities

Active involvement in strategic initiatives

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or IT Management ITIL Foundation or higher certification

Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, or Agile)

Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration projects

Knowledge of additional SAP modules (SD, FI/CO, PM)

Experience with SAP integration technologies (IDocs, RFCs, APIs)

Programming/scripting skills (ABAP, Python, PowerShell)

Previous experience in greenfield plant IT setup or ramp-up phase

Familiarity with BMW or other premium OEM IT standards and requirements
