WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking for a highly skilled and independent a Senior Accountant colleague to join our Finance team for Slovak rep.

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role within the Finance department, responsible for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the company’s financial records and reports. This position demands a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, expertise in accounting software, and strong skills in analyzing and resolving complex financial challenges. The Senior Accountant works closely with other finance team members and various departments to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will take full ownership of accounting operations in Slovak rep. and will closely cooperate with the international finance team as well as with another company branch located in Slovak rep.,

Independent and comprehensive double-entry bookkeeping, ensuring completeness and accuracy of tax and accounting records in accordance with applicable legislationin Slovak rep.,

Monitoring and implementation of changes in accounting and tax legislation,

Keeping updated track of Fixed asset register with monthly depreciation,

Monthly, quarterly and annual closings, including general ledger reconciliations and preparation of accurate financial reports,

Performed detailed reconciliations of GL accounts to verify financial accuracy.

Take full responsibility for the accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns to Tax authorities (monthly returns, VAT control list),

Cooperation with external tax advisors on annual corporate income tax returns and other tax-related matters,

Preparation and submission of annualFinancial statements and statutory reports in accordance with Slovak legal requirements, 

 Submission of statistical reports to the Statistical Office and National Bank of Slovakia,

Manage the submission of accurate statistical reports to NBS and Statistical office within required deadlines,

Keep abreast of developments in accounting field to continuously enhance personal expertise and effectiveness of accounting practices,

Stay up to date with advancements in the accounting field to consistently improve your own knowledge and the efficiency of accounting processes,

Undertake and manage special projects as assigned, demonstrating leadership strategic problem-solving capabilities.

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

WHAT YOU NEED TO SHINE IN THIS ROLE

Education: University degree (Economic background),

Min. 5 years of experience in Accounting,

Solid understanding of Slovak VAT legislation and hands-on experience with VAT reporting,

Proven ability to manage accounting tasks independently in a fast-paced environment,

Previous experience with VAT declaration and statements preparation.

Languages: Slovak (native or bilingual level), English (intermediate level),

PC skills:Strong knowledge of MS Excel; experience with accounting software, preferably SAP, is a plus, 

Detail-oriented, responsible, and analytical with a proactive and solution-focused mindset,

Open to collaborating within a distributed team and with international colleagues.
