Náplň práce, právomoci a zodpovednosti:

Company

Vandoren is an international group specialized in engineering and automation of industrial installations. The company operates in sectors such as food & pharma, machine building, water, recycling and semicon.

With over 800 employees, Vandoren delivers multidisciplinary solutions combining engineering, industrial automation, electrical engineering and production IT.

The Slovak entity employs approximately 80 people and has a finance team of 5. The organization is in a phase of further professionalizing its finance function and is currently implementing Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to support future growth. In this context, accounting activities are being increasingly brought in-house.

Overall responsibility

• Full responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all financial records and reporting

• Owner of the general ledger and all statutory financial statements

• Primary point of contact for auditors, tax authorities and group finance

Accounting & Control

• Ensure correct and complete accounting in line with Slovak GAAP and group policies

• Own and review all balance sheet positions (accruals, provisions, intercompany, etc.)

• Full ownership of the balance sheet, including reconciliation, substantiation and review of all positions

• Perform and supervise period-end closings (monthly, quarterly, year-end)

• Salary processing, including reporting to state authorities

• Ensure a strong internal control framework and compliance with procedures

• Identify risks and proactively resolve accounting issues

• Safeguard proper procedures around stock counting and inventory controls

Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

• Deliver management reporting to group (incl. variance analysis)

• Ensure timely submission of statutory accounts and reporting to authorities

• Act as key contact for external audit and coordinate audit process

Tax & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Slovak tax regulations (VAT, corporate tax, etc.)

• Oversee preparation and submission of all tax filings

• Monitor legislative changes and translate into practice

• Manage relationship with tax advisors and authorities

Systems & Internal Controls (Dynamics Business Central)

• Take a leading role in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central from a finance and control perspective

• Co-responsible for system design and configuration, ensuring compliance with Slovak legislation and group policies

• Ensure proper segregation of duties, internal controls and auditability within the system

• Safeguard data integrity and correctness of financial processes and workflows

• Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of accounting processes

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of 2 accounting staff

• Review work, set priorities and ensure high-quality output

• Act as escalation point for complex accounting matters

Business Partnering

• Advise management on accounting, tax and financial topics

• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning

• Actively challenge and improve financial insight and performance

• Proactively connect with project teams and operational staff to ensure accurate financial understanding of ongoing projects

Požiadavky na zamestnanca:

• Secondary or higher education in economics (advantageous)

• Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience

• Proven experience in a senior or lead accounting role with full responsibility for financial statements

• Strong knowledge of Slovak accounting and tax regulations

• Solid experience with balance sheet management and internal controls

• Experience with inventory accounting is required

• Experience in an international and/or project-based organization is preferred

• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a strong plus)

• Hands-on mentality combined with a strong sense of ownership

• Fluent in Slovak and English
