Global Commodity Manager - Measuring, Instrumentation, Cables & Connectors

Commodity Scope: Measuring, Instrumentation & Testing (MIT), Cables, Connectors & Cable Assemblies

Key Responsibilities

• develop and implement global commodity strategies covering cost competitiveness, quality, supply security, technology and sustainability
• lead global sourcing activities, including supplier selection, RFQ, supplier nomination, negotiations and commercial agreements
• drive cost reduction, cost avoidance and value engineering initiatives to achieve annual procurement targets
• monitor global market trends, technology developments, raw material prices, supplier capacity and industry dynamics, and proactively identify risks and opportunities
• manage and develop strategic suppliers, including supplier performance, capacity, quality, risk management and long-term cooperation
• optimize the global supplier base through supplier consolidation, localization, dual sourcing and benchmarking
• work closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Operations, Finance and regional Purchasing teams to optimize specifications, costs and sourcing concepts
• support new product development and industrialization projects, ensuring early procurement involvement and competitive sourcing solutions
• drive standardization and harmonization of cables, connectors and cable assemblies across products and regions where applicable
• ensure alignment between global commodity strategy and regional purchasing activities, and monitor key procurement KPIs including savings, supplier performance and supply risks

Requirements

• bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• several years of experience in strategic procurement, commodity management or sourcing, preferably in an international manufacturing environment
• solid knowledge of measuring and testing equipment, electrical/electronic components, cables, connectors and cable assemblies
• proven experience in international supplier management, sourcing and complex commercial negotiations
• good understanding of electrical components, manufacturing processes and cost structures is preferred
• strong analytical, strategic and commercial skills with a result-oriented mindset
• excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional organization
• fluent English; Czech language and/or other languages are a plus
