Strategic Buyer

Do you want to shape sourcing strategies, work with global suppliers and influence key purchasing decisions in an international manufacturing environment?

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer who will take responsibility for a selected commodity portfolio (Plastics or Metals) and help drive long-term supplier development, cost optimization and supply chain resilience.

As part of our global purchasing organization, you will collaborate with international teams and suppliers while contributing to projects with significant business impact.

What will be your responsibility?

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Manage supplier selection, supplier development and long-term supplier relationships.
• Lead commercial, pricing and contractual negotiations with suppliers.
• Drive savings and eliminate single source.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Monitor market trends, technological developments and supply chain risks.
• Manage sourcing projects and support new product introduction activities.
• Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement actions where needed.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, production, logistics and planning teams.
• Maintain purchasing and contract-related data within SAP.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience in strategic purchasing, commodity management or sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into business decisions.
• Understanding of supply chain and sourcing processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage).
• Good command of English for everyday communication with international suppliers and colleagues.
• Proactive and independent approach with strong organizational skills.
