Technical Project Manager

Packaging and Production Line Automation

GT Pack is an engineering company operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We develop and supply machinery and integrated solutions for product feeding, dosing, packaging, product inspection, case packing, conveying and palletising.

We are expanding our team and are looking for a hands-on engineering professional to take responsibility for technical project preparation and coordination. You will develop line concepts, layouts and engineering documentation, working with customers, our sales team, machinery suppliers and our engineering and production partner Tetamat, from the initial enquiry through installation and final handover.

Key responsibilities
· Define customer requirements. Visit production sites, take measurements and collect product, packaging, capacity, space and utility requirements. Translate them into a clear technical brief.

· Develop technical solutions. Select suitable equipment, check line capacities and interfaces, and prepare practical concepts for complete lines and upgrades to existing installations.

· Prepare layouts and drawings. Create and revise 2D CAD layouts, dimensioned general arrangement drawings, installation plans and equipment interface drawings, allowing for product flow, access, maintenance and cleaning.

· Engineer customised equipment. Prepare drawings and parts lists for conveyors, platforms and auxiliary equipment in coordination with Tetamat and specialist engineering colleagues. Develop 3D models where required.

· Support technical offers. Prepare specifications, supplier enquiries, scope descriptions and technical documentation. Compare supplier proposals and support equipment costing, project budgets and tender submissions.

· Coordinate suppliers and engineering. Obtain and review drawings and technical data, agree equipment interfaces and coordinate mechanical, electrical and controls requirements with the responsible specialists.

· Manage project execution. Maintain schedules, drawing approvals, technical changes, open issues and project records. Monitor progress and costs, and report risks and deviations to the commercial and engineering teams.

· Coordinate installation and handover. Plan site readiness, deliveries, installation and acceptance tests with customers, suppliers and service engineers. Ensure that manuals, final drawings and technical handover documents are complete.

Requirements
· Technical education in mechanical engineering, automation, mechatronics, industrial engineering or a related field.

· Proven experience in project engineering or technical project management involving industrial machinery or automated production lines.

· Strong practical proficiency in AutoCAD or an equivalent 2D CAD system, with the ability to independently produce accurate layouts and technical drawings. Experience with 3D CAD is an advantage.

· Ability to assess equipment capacities, understand mechanical and automation interfaces, and read technical documentation and schematics.

· Experience with packaging equipment, food production or line integration is an advantage.

· Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate several projects, suppliers and deadlines.

· Czech or Slovak for local customer communication, and good written and spoken English for international supplier coordination.

· Valid Category B driving licence and readiness to travel to customer sites in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and occasionally to suppliers abroad.
